The continuation of aircraft servicing meant Friday on the ground again and 'B' Flight set off early for Kyrenia for dinghy drill loaded with packed lunches beer and a dinghy. Friday evening saw the awaited test between us and Bairsto's Boys which after some reasonably friendly savagery resulted in a draw, four goals apiece; those who were not participating gave support from the side.

Ejection drills, air to air briefing and allied ground training items featured on Saturday morning when all was peace and quiet. 'Sir' and John Barwell got airborne on a trial of the route for the flypast next week. Their guidance from the ground was given by Pete Botters tucked away on the parade ground in Nicosia.

The Greeks and Turks put their spoke in on Saturday evening in a mutual effort to reduce the population with the result that everyone was confined to camp until further notice and all proposed sorties to Kyrenia for the Sunday were cancelled.
