The Tangmere Diaries

Somewhere in the Middle East there existed No 208 Squadron (Proper) flying somewhat dated aircraft and the move was made to replace them with a new squadron flying all-singing all-dancing Hunter 6 aircraft, and so it was that No 208 Squadron (UK Detachment) came into being at RAF Tangmere in the second week of January 1958. Click on the picture on the left to read the (unofficial) Squadron Diary from 13 January to 8 June 1958.
