10th June 2020 marks the 80th Anniversary of the Italian declaration of war in 1940, therefore bringing 208 Squadron, then based at Qasaba, near Mersa Matruh in Egypt, directly into WWII. Memories of WWII
The Association was saddened to learn of the death of Geoff Smith of the Spitfire Chapter, who passed away on 17 October 2019. Click on the picture on the right to read Geoff’s recollections of WWII and his time on 208 Squadron in the immediate aftermath of the War.
