Leading Aircraftman George Birks served in the Royal Air Force between 1940 and 1946, and with 208 Squadron as a Flight Mechanic (Airframe and Controls) on Hurricanes and Spitfires in the North African and Italian Campaigns. He celebrated his 100th Birthday on 3 August 2020, but sadly passed away shortly thereafter in September 2020.
