Finally, Graham also added his thanks to all those who had helped him in his research for the book, and particularly to his friends and family who had been so supportive and so understanding. Graham then spent some time writing dedications to those who had bought the book on the day. Several Association members collected the signatures of the President and the 10 Squadron Commanders who were there at the event. 100th Anniversary Watch

The more observant of the visitors would have noticed a number of Centenary Story 100th Anniversary Watch 03.JPGthe 208 Squadron aircrew sporting a rather impressive timepiece during their earlier flypast sortie. This was the Limited Edition ‘208(R) Squadron Centenary Edition’ watch from the RSC Pilot’s Watch Collection that had been specially produced for the 100th Anniversary. Designed by Ronald Steffen, the back of the watches are engraved with an etching of the Squadron Crest and are presented in an authentic box with a metal logo plate. Those Association members who had ordered a watch to mark the Anniversary were able to collect them from Squadron Leader ‘Skids’ Harrison, who had organised the Limited Edition. Although the watch is no longer available from the Squadron, a Special Edition for Public Sale (RSC 1011) is available from RSC directly.

Meteor Presentation

Our esteemed Meteor Chapter Representative, Desmond Penrose, was sadly unable to attend the Centenary Celebrations. However, to mark the auspicious event he instead presented a fabulous scale model of his Meteor VZ588. On his behalf, the model was presented to the Squadron by Malcolm Ward to great applause.
