1916 - 1917 Bromet 18

My time with the Squadron came to an end on October 27th, 1917, when I handed over to Flight-Commander Draper, and returned to England and my old Command, Guston Road Air Station, Dover. The Squadron gave a farewell party on the 25th, with a special Dinner Menu and Sing-Song Programme. I will always recall memories of a marvellously cheery evening.

And so ends my Chapter. One is left with the feeling of having done little justice to the subject, but if, in this brief resumé of the Squadron’s first year in France, one has succeeded in recapturing some of the atmosphere and spirit of those days, something will have been accomplished, and perhaps individual memories of persons and events will serve to fill the gaps that are left.
