The following is taken from the Committee’s own visit
to the Grimscote Manor Hotel in November 2018.

Location

The hotel is easy to find. It is located directly on the A446 Lichfield Road at Coleshill. The hotel is only accessible from the southbound side of the dual carriageway; the entrance is just before the Stonebridge Road roundabout. Although the hotel is adjacent to the busy dual carriageway, traffic noise is not obtrusive outside and is inaudible inside the hotel.

From the M42:  Exit Junction 9, take A446 towards Coleshill, straight on at Hams Hall roundabout, over 3rd set of traffic lights on dual carriage way for about 1/2 mile. The Hotel is on the left hand side on the hill (opposite is the Shell Garage). Slow right down to approach the entrance on the left.

Parking

There is a car park at the front of the hotel, with a large additional car park at the back. There will be more than sufficient parking spaces for the Association dinner. A small number of disabled parking spaces are located directly in front of the hotel, adjacent to the wheelchair accessible entrance.

General Impressions

The hotel is very stylish and the decor is sophisticated and in good order throughout. The frontage of the hotel remains true to its origins as a country manor. The modern bedroom block at the rear of the hotel is not visible from the front. The reception area is at the rear of the red carpeted entrance corridor.

Bar Facilities

The hotel has two bars: one located in the Waldron Suite and a smaller bar in an adjacent room. The Waldron Suite bar is stocked with draught lager, draught IPA, plus bottled beers and wines and spirits. Bar prices are typical for an hotel, at around £4 for a pint of beer, a single measure of spirits, or a glass of wine.
